HashKey Holdings Limited (3887.HK) has announced that its licensed trading platform, HashKey Exchange, will collaborate with Franklin Templeton to distribute its tokenized money market fund, the Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund, known as grBENJI, to digital asset investors in Asia. The fund will launch on the HashKey Exchange Earn Channel on 24 August 2026, providing eligible digital asset investors with access to a fund investing primarily in US government money market instruments and US dollar cash assets through blockchain-enabled infrastructure.

Bridging traditional and on-chain markets

Franklin Templeton said the collaboration expands the reach of its tokenized fund solutions into regulated digital asset markets across Asia, while HashKey said the partnership strengthens its Earn ecosystem by introducing regulated tokenised investment products and deepening ties with global asset managers. Haiyang Ru, CEO of HashKey Exchange BG, said the partnership was "a monumental milestone for HashKey Exchange and the broader Asian digital asset landscape," adding that it was "directly addressing the surging institutional demand for compliant, real-world asset (RWA) yield solutions."

Chetan Karkhanis, SVP, Digital Assets Client Engagement at Franklin Templeton, said: "We are excited to launch our tokenized money market fund on the HashKey Exchange platform. Leveraging blockchain technology, the Fund provides investors with enhanced transparency, security, accessibility, speed, and cost efficiency. Launching on HashKey is a key step in broadening our reach, tapping into their rapidly expanding client base of digital-native banking and wealth platforms alongside established institutional clients, while advancing our digital assets and innovation strategy in the region."

Why it matters for private wealth

The launch continues a pattern of established asset managers distributing tokenised government liquidity products through regulated Asian digital asset exchanges, giving institutional and professional investors in the region a compliant route to blockchain-based cash-management instruments. Both firms said they would continue to explore expanding access to tokenised products across further markets and asset classes.
