Hamilton Lane Leads $270m Continuation Vehicle for Savant Wealth
The transaction gives Cynosure's original limited partners a liquidity option in one of the largest independent, fee-only RIAs in the United States, now valued more than 25 times higher than a decade ago.
Cynosure Partners, the direct investments business of The Cynosure Group, and Hamilton Lane (Nasdaq: HLNE) have announced the closing of a single-asset continuation vehicle for Savant Capital Holdings, known as Savant Wealth Management. Ten years after Cynosure's initial investment in Savant, the continuation vehicle secured approximately $270 million in total commitments, providing a liquidity option for Cynosure's original limited partners. Funds managed by Hamilton Lane served as the sole lead investor and only source of new outside capital.
One of the largest fee-only RIAs
Savant has more than $57 billion in assets under management and is one of the largest independent, fee-only registered investment advisers in the United States, offering investment management, wealth advisory, tax, consulting and legal capabilities to more than 25,000 clients across 70 offices. Cynosure remains an active minority investor and board member alongside Kelso & Company, a North American middle-market private equity firm, and Savant employees continue to represent the largest shareholder group.
Twenty-five times growth over a decade
Keith Taylor, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Cynosure, said: "Ten years marked the right time for us to allow our original investors to take liquidity in what has been a great partnership with the entire Savant organization. We have as much conviction in Savant's future today as when we first invested." Brent Brodeski, Founder and Chief Executive of Savant, said the company is "over 25x larger today than it was when Cynosure invested ten years ago," adding: "We believe we are still in the early innings."
Keith Brittain, Co-Head of Secondary Investments at Hamilton Lane, described Savant as "a high-quality business with a strong management team operating in an attractive segment of the wealth management market that continues to benefit from powerful secular tailwinds." The transaction is Hamilton Lane's latest investment in the RIA space. Hamilton Lane reports $1 trillion in assets under management and supervision as of 31 March 2026. Campbell Lutyens advised Cynosure on the transaction; Ropes & Gray advised Hamilton Lane and Debevoise advised Cynosure on legal matters.
