Structuring advice tends to be discussed as a one-off exercise: choose the vehicle, choose the jurisdiction, sign. The work that follows is less discussed and considerably longer — trustee decisions, corporate administration, accounts, filings and compliance obligations that recur in every jurisdiction the family touches, indefinitely.
Christian Li founded CKLB Fiduciary Group in 1999 and has led it since, administering trusts, companies and investment structures for private clients and family offices from Mauritius, Hong Kong, the Seychelles and Dubai. His answers below are brief, which is itself informative about where he thinks the difficulty sits. Ahead of the UK Family Office Summit Oxford 2026, he sets out what he sees expanding the market and what he sees constraining it.
